T&J CAL week 14

Hey everyone,

Just thought I’d drop you a quick line and show you a project I’m working on on the side. This is a CAL by two lovely Dutch Ladies, Tertia and Jolanda. They have made their very own CAL and almost everyone in The Netherlands that loves to crochet is participating. Their Facebook group has over 31.000 members!

We are on week 14 at the moment and we are making a VERY BIG granny square blanket. Mine is already more than a meter square. I should block it soon as it is starting to curl and wobble all over the place.

I’m using Stylecraft DK in lovely purple and pink colors. Remember the lovely yarn I wrote about some time ago? Well just look what it is becoming! πŸ˜€

Have a beautifully nutty week!

  1. You are such a star! Even before I became friends with Dedri Uys, I relished your Scheepjes CAL videos.
You have a great way & I’m super grateful!

  2. Esther, does Google Translate do a good enough job that English-only readers could follow the T & J CAL?

    • I believe it does because there are English speaking ladies in de Facebook group. Also there are schemes for certain parts of the pattn and fotographs. And with a list of the stitch translations you should be a long way to getting the whole pattern πŸ™‚

  3. I’m so sorry Esther. I thought you’d done a video for the great T & J Dutch CAL & got all excited.
Your Scheepjes ones were magical & so clear.
I am a friend of Dedri Uys & Jenny & I was so delighted when you joined the team with your amazing videos – helped so so so many!!
I am so sorry to misunderstand your blog post today – wishful thinking!
I am an Admin in CAL -Crochet A-Long group & the amount of requests we get for an English translation & Videos for this lovely CAL never seems to stop.
    Here’s hoping …. One day!

And thanks again for all your posts & help.

    • Hi Lynn,
I can translate the CAL, no problem. I can also make video tutorials for it, but time is a limiting factor.
I have two more BIG projects coming up for making videos. After that sure, I can do a translation and video tutorial in English.
One point, we need permission from the designers. So if you can get permission from Tertia and Jolanda I will make the translations on paper and videos in English. It would be like really great if we could host this CAL together. πŸ˜€
A realistic timeline is for me to start in june. Then we can have them ready from July. This way it is a lovely summer CAL πŸ™‚

  5. I’d like an English video set for the above cal. I have the written version and it’s great but think things would go much better with video.I ‘ll be on the lookout.😊
