Today is one of those lazy Sundays when the weather outside is dreadful with lots of wind and really cold, so you stay inside with your family and just spend time together. On a day like today I love to find my corner on the couch and not move from there unless there is a really good reason. And in that corner spot on the couch I love to crochet.
One of the projects that I have been working on in that corner spot is the Mystery Quilt Afgan by Annelies Baes. In issue 73, 74 and 75 of Inside Crochet all the patterns for this unusual and unique afgan are given. And as an extra bonus, in Issue 74 there is an interview with Annelies.
The CAL is accompanied with two yarn packs, one in Scheepjes Merino Soft and one in Scheepjes Color Crafter. I have a Color Crafter kit which contains 13 colors of this soft acrylic yarn.
Annelies asked me to make the Color Crafter version so that we could show all you wonderful people what the end result looks like. Annelies is super busy and she just does not have enough hours in the day to make both the Merino Soft and Color Crafter versions, especially if you realize that the Color Crafter afgan is twice the size of the Merino Soft. So I have been busy in my spot on the couch making all the rectangles for this afgan. At the moment the CAL is at the end of part 2 which means you have a zillion of these squares!
All ready for joining and a border in part 3. I’m sure you also have a favorite spot to crochet. I hope you have a wonderful week and get the opportunity to spend lots of time in that spot.
