Today is a happy day! We get to start with our Peacock Tail Bag designed by the very talented Tatsiana from Lilla Bjorn Crochet. This first part is still reasonably straightforward with the front and back parts being the same for the first few rounds.

Video tutorials
I have decided to split the front and back part of the bag into two videos to make it easier for you. I have also added markers to the description of the videos on YouTube so that you can easily jump to a specific round if you want to. You can find the video links for the front and back of the bag on my YouTube channel.
Colorway
I am using Linen Soft in the following colors: 614 as that is my main color in addition to 622, 625, 626 and 627. I have used my colors for part 1 in the following way.
Round | Font | Back |
1 | 622 – light green | 622 – light green |
2 | 627 – green | 627 – green |
3 | 626 – pink | 626 – pink |
4 | 622 – light green | 622 – light green |
5 | 627 – green | 627 – green |
6 | 626 – pink | 626 – pink |
7 | 622 – light green | 622 – light green |
It doesn’t matter how you place your colors on the back of your bag. You can use the back part of your bag to use leftovers from other projects if you have the same yarn. For the front of your bag color placement is more important.
Some tips
The most important thing you want to look for is that the front and back of your bag are the same size. If there is a little difference that is not a problem, but if it gets too much your bag is going to look a bit wonky when finished.
Joining the CAL
To join the CAL, join the Official CCC Social Group on Facebook that is hosting the project. To make this bag you will need 6 balls of Scheepjes Linen Soft yarn in 5 colors; for the main color of the bag you will need 2 balls and of the other 4 colors you will need 1 ball of each. There are two kits available that contain everything you need to make your bag; one in a Peacock colorway and the other in a Pastel colorway. Linen Soft is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/International), Paradise Fibers (US/CA) or your local Scheepjes stockist. I am using Linen Soft in the following colors: 2 balls of 614 as that is my main color, and 1 ball each of 622, 625, 626 and 627. In addition to the yarn you will need a bag handle, 2 30mm D-rings, an 18mm magnetic clasp, interfacing and fabric for the lining.
Next week we continue with our bag in part 2 of the CAL. Hope to see you then.
With love,
Esther

I’m very excited about this CAL but I haven’t decided on my colors yet! Thank you for taking the time to make these tutorials. It certainly makes things easier if you happen to have any doubts. Hugs!
