In Bloom Part 7 Video Tutorial

We are in luck with another relaxing week of  In Bloom this week; all rows are repeats of what we have done before, so it should be easy sailing this week. We are slowly reaching the end of our In Bloom journey, a designed by Johanna Lindahl from Mijo Crochet.

The yarn that I’m using is Scheepjes Catona yarn which is a 100% mercerized cotton, sport weight yarn. These are the colors I have selected for my In Bloom, all are Scheepjes Catona 50g balls. Here are the yarn amounts that you will need to make a complete cushion:

  • Color 1 – 1 x 246 : Icy Pink
  • Color 2 – 1 x 240 : Amethyst
  • Color 3 – 1 x 394 : Shadow Purple
  • Color 4 – 4 x 130 : Old Lace
  • Color 5 – 1 x 173 : Bluebell
  • Color 6 – 1 x 247 : Blue Bird
  • Color 7 – 1 x 164 : Light Navy

Scheepjes Catona is available in 109 colors in balls of 10g cutie pie balls, 25g balls, 50g balls and for limited colors also in 100g balls.

I am following the color order as suggested by Johanna, and here is the order of my colors per round. I used a 3.5mm hook for all the linen stitch rows and a 3mm hook for the other rows.

  • Round 51 – 173 : Bluebell
  • Round 52 – 173 : Bluebell
  • Round 53 – 247 : Blue Bird
  • Round 54 – 247 : Blue Bird
  • Round 55 – Light Navy
  • Round 56 – Light Navy

Scheepjes Catona is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/International)Love Crochet (US), Knotty House (CA) or your local Scheepjes Stockist. Thank you for supporting my work by buying your yarn through the links on my blog. ❤

Video Tutorial

Part 7 of In Bloom is a repetition of rounds we have done before, so this is a very short video.  For the linen stitch rounds I use a 3.5mm hook.

The flowers are part of a large bouquet I received from my lovely husband because we have been married for 13 years. He never forgets things like this; I am usually the one that forgets.

Next week I will release the final video for In Bloom in which we will be assembling our cushion. If you are making this pattern along with me, I would love to see your work. Feel free to share your work on my Facebook page, or tag me in one of your posts on Instagram.

With love,

  1. Dear Esther, I have just finished Demelza, and am ready to block her. I have followed your video tutorials and yarn choices and I am thrilled with the result. Can you just tell me how you block the stonewashed yarn, please? Do you use steam or do you wet it? I haven’t really blocked anything before and don’t want to ruin the blanket.

    Many thanks, Carole.
