Today is a happy day! Yes, a new CAL is starting soon and I am happy to be helping by making video tutorials for the project. The CAL is called “Elements” and has been designed by Sandra from Hooks and Yarn, a yarn shop in Amsterdam.

Yarn
There are official kits available from Hooks and Yarn with an extra surprise for everyone that buys a kit. However, as always, I am very bad at following a preset colorway so I have made my own colorway using Scheepjes Stonewashed yarn in 5 colors.
- Color 1 – Moonstone (801)
- Color 2 – Lilac Quartz (818)
- Color 3 – Deep Amethyst (811)
- Color 4 – Lepidolite (830)
- Color 5 – Boulder Opal (804)
At this point I don’t know how much of each color I am going to need because I have not completed my Elements blanket yet. I have 5 balls of each color to start with and I will let you know if I ended up using more of a particular color. Actually, I know I will use more of certain colors, but I don’t know how my color placement is going to be so I can’t predict my yarn usage at this point.
Scheepjes Stone Washed is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/International), Love Crochet (US), Knotty House (CA), Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU) or your local Scheepjes Stockist. In addition to the yarn you will also need a 4mm hook. Thank you for supporting my work by buying your yarn through the links on my blog. ❤

About Elements CAL
Elements is a blanket that has a unique textured look and feel. The blanket changes shape several times which makes it both interesting to look at and fun to work on. The blanket is framed with a set of squares and finished with a border which you can easily extend if you want your blanket to be larger. The Stonewashed blanket is about 135cm (55inch) square. Several samples have already been made, which is your favorite color combination?

The written patterns will be available in English and Dutch, and my video tutorials will be available each week to support the written pattern and help you where needed.
Timelines
The CAL will start 29th of November 2017, and each week I will release a new video tutorial when the next part of the pattern is released. The CAL will last approximately 12 weeks. I will do my best to keep up with the pace of the CAL, but if I do happen to fall behind I will do my best to keep the videos coming as soon as possible. Join the Hooks and Yarn Facebook group to keep up to date with everything about the Elements CAL.
Hope to see many of you for the start of this new project.
With love,
Esther

I’d like to make this blanket in the fire colours used by Sandra in her example but I cannot find details of the stonewashed colours she used. She said the details would be published later but Deramores currently have a sale on so I would like to be able to order asap. Could you possibly tell me which shades?

Such a beautiful and interesting pattern.
I have just discovered it and see that the facebook group is closed. My question is: can I purchase the pattern and / or the videos so that I may try this after the first of January?

Cant even begin to tell you how disappointed I am in the part 4 video, telling us that there was an error somewhere in part 3. I am so upset. I will not be following any further. I totally realize that mistakes are made but don’t you think someone should have figured that out before the video was made??

My videos are free of charge and I make them as a service to people. I do my best, but apparently I am only human.
If you prefer not to use my videos, by all means. I kindly refer you to the original written pattern by the designer on her website.

Your videos have been an amazingly wonderful back-up to the written pattern. I don’t think I would have made it as far as I have without you! Do you have an update by chance on how many skeins you’ve needed in your colorway? Since it’s different from Sandra’s? Thanks again!
