Ammonite Hook Roll Video Tutorial

It’s almost holiday time and I have the perfect project for you. Make your own crochet hook roll, either for yourself or to give as a gift. The Ammonite Crochet Hook Roll is a pattern by Dedri Uys from Look at what I made. She asked me to do a video tutorial for you, and I am more than happy to help you with the tricky bits.

Resources

Material

To make the Ammonite hook roll you need the following:

You can buy Scheepjes Stone Washed from Wool Warehouse (UK), Jimmy Bean Wools (USA), Love Crafts (USA), The Knitting Network (UK), Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU), or your local Scheepjes Stockist.

Video tutorial

I show you how to make the Ammonite hook roll in THIS video. Along the way I show you how to make the pockets where your hooks go in and I show you how to work with the beads.

  1. Dear Esther: Thank you SO much for making this a free pattern. My favorite aim in life is to make all the functional items we use every day beautiful at the same time, wherever possible. I was looking at Prudence Mapstone’s Facebook post about an art instillation she is working hard on to meet the deadline. It was filled with beautiful spirals (ammonites) which is one of my favorite symbols. I have at least one of her books buried somewhere but before I could dither about where to look, up came your wonderful pattern. I am thrilled – needless to say! I will go right over and follow you on Facebook after saving the PDF. Thank you again! Warm regards, Linda “K”
