Do you sometimes wonder what you should give your crochet friend who seems to have everything already? With my crochet gift guide I hope to help you choose the perfect gift.
Luxury Yarn
High quality, luxury yarns is a gift that keeps on giving. It’s the moment you give the yarn, the time someone spends making something fabulous with it, and every time someone use the finished item you are giving something special. With a yarn gift someone will always look back on the moment you gave it to them and remember your relationship.
When it comes to luxury yarns I am a fan of Devon Sun Yarns, Madelinetosh, Malabrigo and Fyberspates to name but a few. The yarns I have worked with were all absolutely fabulous and the colors are beautiful and unique. Etsy is also a wonderful place to search for that special yarn from a small, independent dyer. Every time you support a small dyer, you help to turn a dream into reality.
Yarn box
If you want to go all out this festive season, what about giving a yarn box? Many dyers offer boxes with different options ranging from a once-off box to an unlimited subscription. I am subscribed to the monthly Devon Sun Yarns Teaser box. I think a small yarn box is a perfect gift for the person who has everything. The November 2017 Teaser box had a beautiful skein of Angle yarn, a sparkle yarn containing 95% superwash Merino wool and 5% silver sparkle fibers. The 100g sock weight skein had a handsome 366meters of yarn.
Luxury accessories
If you are looking for the most luxurious and special accessories on the planet, the Cohana range might be just what you are looking for. Cohana is a range of handmade items made by Japanese craftsmen. Each item is unique and breathes craftsmanship. The range includes thread clippers wrapped with Iga braids similar to those used on traditional Japanese weapons, waterproof canvas bags with room for many small items, and marking pins with glass beads. All Cohana items come in different colors and each item is a small masterpiece.
Kirsten from Haak Maar Raak wrote a detailed review about Cohana. These special items are available from Black Sheep Wools, a beautiful store I hope to visit one day. Black Sheep Wools ship world wide.
Hand made stitch markers
I am a collector of hand made stitch markers in all shapes and sixes. I have many stitch markers and each one of them is a party all on its own. Some are beautifully detailed, others are just bonkers. A matching set of handmade hooks, stitch markers and storage tin in a design that perfectly matches someones personality is the perfect gift.
If you are looking for such a set, I highly recommend Beth from Koru Clay Studio. I have purchased many items from her and both her skills and customer service are wonderful. Beth can make you a complete hook, tin and stitch marker set in any theme you like on request.
I hope you find that perfect gift for that special person. ❤
Merry Christmas everyone!
