January is just behind us, time for an update on where I am with the C2C Make Along 2018. I am using 35 shades of Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat, which are 25g balls, but you can just as easily use the bigger Scheepjes Maxi Suger Rush which are 50g. I use a 2.5mm (US 4) hook, but I know that many of you needed to drop a hook size to get your work to look nice.
Scheepjes Suger Rush and Sweet Treat yarn is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Knotty House (US), Love Crochet (US), Caro’s Atelier (NL) and many other Scheepjes Stockists. Under Resources you find everything for need for the Make Along.

January was in one word, warm! I am seeing a green trend with the most used colors being those for 6C (42F), 7C (44F), and 8C (46F), all green. Considering that January should be about 3C (37F) where I live, you can really tell that it has been a warm month. There was even an all time high recorded; on January 24th it was 14C (56F). It has never been hotter on January 24th before. I think global warming is a fact we just can’t ignore anymore…
I am thoroughly enjoying the process of making the temperature blanket, more than I expected really. It is the unexpectedness of what the colors look like, the sudden appearance of a blue band, the unpredictability. Really enjoying this. In my Facebook group It’s all in a Nutshell Crochet Nuts I have been sharing a few extra WIPs, along with many others. So nice to see it grow day by day.
I have peaked at the weather forecast for the first two weeks of February and I am happy to see that we will be having frost. Did I just say that!? I HATE cold, but colder temperatures means blues in my blanket. Oh the dilemma!!
How to make your own #C2CMAL2018 blanket
To make your own blanket you need to align temperatures to colors. I have given you an example in my Color Chart C2C Temperature Blanket Make ALong 2018. However, feel free to change the range of the temperatures to better suite your local situation. I have decided to use the maximum temperature registered by the official weather station in my city as the temperature for each day of the year. You can use the Empty Color Chart to register the temperature in your city so that you can keep track of which color goes where. Finally you need the pattern, we are going to keep increasing the diagonal for some time still, so just keep going for the time being.
