It’s summer holiday here and the weather is crazy hot. Luckily Stitch Story crochet along has small squares because a large and heavy afghan would not work for me right now. Way too hot! Time for part 3 in which we make squares with textured diamond popcorns. Stitch Story is designed by Heather Gibbs from Keep Calm and Crochet on UK.

Video tutorial Part 3
In the video tutorial I show you how to make the diamond square. I show you how to work the small square row by row. In the video description The large square is a repetition of the small square, so I kindly refer you to the written pattern for the stitch counts for the large square.
My squares for Part 3
I am making my Stitch Story blanket in one color of Scheepjes River Washed yarn, the baby brother of the much loved Scheepjes Stone Washed yarn. I am using River Washed Wheaton (950), a soft shade with blue fluff and a cherry core, for my squares.
Scheepjes River Washed is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Black Sheep Wools (UK), Knotty House (CA), Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU) and many other Scheepjes stockists worldwide. Thank you for supporting my work by buying your yarn through the links on my blog ❤
I am making only two squares a week, and for this week I made both my 15cm (6″) square and one 30cm (12″) square using a 4.0mm hook with my Scheepjes River Washed yarn. The 3 small squares are much easier to get photographed than the large squares!
Hope you are having a great summer holiday, and if you are living on the other side of the planet, hope you are having a cozy winter time with crochet and friends. Next time, part 4!
With love,
Esther
