The school year is coming to a close, which always seems to result in a last minute sprint to get everything done before the holiday. My eldest son is finishing primary school, which means we are moving into a new phase; a son in high school. But before we jump into that new adventure, it’s time for a five week break, with loads of time to sleep in, crochet, spend extra time with my family, drink loads of thee and cappuccino and just be outside and enjoy.
As a family we are going to France for two weeks during the summer, and I have been thinking about what WIPs to pack. Do you always wonder what projects to take with you on holiday? I know I do, almost feels impossible to choose! No joking, I have been thinking about this for weeks already!
One project that I think I will take is my Snow White Sophie’s Universe. This is a delicate Sophie, worked in thin cotton thread with a 2mm hook. She is beautiful, but somehow I just never get round to working on her. This is a project just for me, no deadlines or obligations. If you still want the Sophie book, it’s available from many retailers and bookshops such as Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Bol.com (NL) and Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU).
I have been knitting a bit, and I have been wanting to try the new Scheepjes Metropolis sock yarn. So I have put three balls into my knitting project bag, and I might just have cast on a new pair already….
I think I will leave my temperature wrap at home, because it’s relatively easy to catch up on. (I know this because I have been doing catch-up for most of the year already.)
Looking at the bright colors of my temperature wrap does bring my thoughts to a lovely Scheepjes Catona Color Pack with over 100 little Cutie Pie balls which I still have in my stash. These little gems are so sweet and have been looking at me with pleading eyes for over a year now, asking me to make something with them. Maybe I should just pack the box, and take it from there?
My husband always just sighs and packs whatever I want to take. Usually I pack more than I end up working on, but I like to be prepared.
I am going to take a rather long break from my blog because I am working on a few things in the background. I will be back in September with new projects. Hope you’ll have a wonderful summer/winter break.
With love,
Esther

Definitely take more than you think you’ll need. Last time I went away I told myself I wouldn’t need an extra ball of yarn, and I ran out!
