How time just gets away from you! It has been 3 months since I last updated you on my Bohemian Temperature Wrap, you must be thinking that I frogged it, or abandoned it, or something. No, I have been working on it in the background, but somehow just didn’t get round to taking photographs. Well, all that is over now, because I got my camera out and took a few snapshots. Time for an end-of-summer update!

Last time I showed you my wrap, it was end of May and the first red and orange stripes were finding their way into my wrap. How much has changed! My wrap is now a total color explosion, with loads of purple and orange. We had such an insanely hot summer this year, with unheard of temperatures of above 40C/105F. Each purple stripe is a day hotter than 30C/86F, which is already a seriously hot day for my country, and we have had more than 10 of these days so far. And just yesterday, the last day of August, was another purple stripe.
My wrap is now slowly getting to a size that it really becomes wearable, it is still slightly on the small side, but if I were to stop now, it would definitely fit. It now looks like it’s an orange and purple wrap, but as the year comes to a close, yellows and blues will find their way back into my wrap.
As you can see I am rather behind on my yarn tails; actually I am more than two months behind on them. Luckily we have had rather stable weather, which means long stretches of the same color, which in turn means fewer tails to work away. Next time I have an quiet night at home watching TV, I think I will get out my wrap and work on those tails. Tails are great to work on while watching TV.
Make your own Bohemian Temperature Wrap
To make a Bohemian Temperature Wrap, you need 8 colors of Scheepjes Cotton 8. The colors I have chosen make a classic rainbow from cool to warm colors.
It’s impossible to predict how much yarn you will need for the wrap because the color placement is still unknown. In my announcement post I make an estimate regarding yarn amounts. Scheepjes Cotton 8 yarn is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Knotty House (US), Love Crochet (US), Caro’s Atelier (NL) and many other Scheepjes Stockists. Deramores (UK) have made a starter pack available which includes all the colors.
The pattern for the wrap is a triangular shape worked in linen stitch, starting from one corner and gradually increasing along the diagonal. January 1st has only one stitch, and December 31st has around 170 stitches. All details regarding the stitch pattern, gauge and stitch counts is in the written pattern available in English and Dutch.
