Catona Cutie Pie Balls for a new project

Do you remember last year, when I went on holiday in France, that I took a bunch of Scheepjes Catona Cutie Pie balls with me? I believe it has become time to tell you what my plans are for those little balls.

What are Cutie Pies?

Maybe you haven’t heard of the cutie pies yet? If not, let me tell you what they are. Scheepjes Catona Cutie Pies are small, 10g balls of mercerized cotton, and they come in a staggering 109 colors! If you compare the cutie pie balls to regular 50g sized balls, you can really see how small and cute they are. These little balls are perfect to try out a new color, for amigurumi, and to add small color detail to a project.

With 109 colors in the Scheepjes Catona range, the perfect shade that you are looking for has to be in there somewhere, right?

So where can I get these cute little balls?

Scheepjes Catona Cutie Pie balls are sold separately, but they are also available as a Colour Pack. This means that you get a box stuffed to the max with 109 little balls. It is such a treat to open up this big box and run your hands through the yarn balls.

Scheepjes Catona Colour Packs are available from Wool Warehouse (UK)/International, Black Sheep Wools (UK), Knotty House (USA/CA), Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU), and Bol.com (NL).

What am I going to make with them?

I am turning every little ball into a square, and then I am going to join the squares to make a blanket. I also have some decorative extra’s planned. Curious? Over the next few weeks I will show you what I am up to, and share the free pattern with you.

Be sure to visit my blog next week, or follow me on Instagram to see what I am making with these little balls of yarn.

With love,

Esther

  1. I’d love to hear from you about any free patterns in crochet you have for cotton. I’m in South Africa and have a small wool shop/sewing shop I get wool/cotton when I can from. I always crochet or knit something because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands and it really helps- but I’m out of ideas of what project to do now!!!
