Circles of the Sun completed

completed circles of the sunIt is Friday again and today is the last day of the Circles of the Sun Overlay crochet along. It is a happy day to finish our design and a sad day because our project is finished. I really hope you enjoyed working on it as much as I did.

In the final video I show you how to join the grannies we have been making over the past nine weeks. You can find all the videos on the Circles of the Sun video page. I also have a color chart available for all the color choices I made using Scheepjes Cotton 8.

I have not completed my cushion just yet, time is an issue, but to give you an idea what the final cushion will look like I placed it on the back of a cushion on my couch. Looks nice doesn’t it 😀

I have bought myself a floral fabric for making the back of the cushion. If you would like a felt fabric for your cushion, Minerva Crafts has 50% off all new new patterned felt fabrics from September 1st running for the entire month. (Use the coupon code FELT30). Here is my fabric, I really love the simplicity of the design which means that if I want a little less color, I can just turn my cushion around.

I hope you enjoyed doing overlay crochet and that you learned something new during this CAL. I also hope to see you again for a new project.

Circles of the Sun block 9

Yeah! We have completed all 9 blocks of the Circles of the Sun Overlay CAL. And now I finally get to pick my favorite one 😀 Looking at all of them my personal favorite is the square from week 6. It is the block from the week my grandma died, but this is purely coincidental. I love the big, central flower.

Block 9 is the last square we are making and also for this square I have a video to help you if you need it. You can find all the videos on the Circles of the Sun video page.

Next week we connect the grannies. You have a week to decide on how you are going to arrange them. That should be enough, right? 😉

Circles of the Sun Block 7

Oh my! Is it Friday already!? Time is just getting away from me at the moment. I am working on many projects at the same time (as I am sure you have noticed 😉 ) and it is time for Block 7 of Circles of the Sun. The square of this week kind of reminds me of a sunflower, what do you think? If you make the flower in yellow I really think it will look like a sunflower. And that fits the theme perfectly 😀

Now, without too much chitchat, here the video for this week.

Circles of the Sun Block 7I used Scheepjes Cotton 8 to make this square:

  • Round 1 – olive (669)
  • Round 2 – jeans blue (711)
  • Round 3 – canary (714)
  • Round 4 – olive (669)
  • Round 5 – orange (716)
  • Round 6 – light gray (700)
  • Round 7 – bordeaux (717)
  • Round 8 – orange (716)
  • Round 9 – jeans blue (711)

I have been putting all my squares together and I really love the way they work together. Is yours also coming along so well? What a silly question, of course it is! With such a great design by Tatsiana from LillaBjorn Corchet you cannot fail 😀

All squares so far for Circles of the Sun

See you next week for block 8.
