Sophie’s Universe “Rainbow”

We have come to the end of a beautiful project. Sophie’s Universe is all done. It was a wonderful journey in which I met a lovely designer named Dedri Uys from “Look at what I made”. She was so generous to me by giving me the opportunity to make videos of her beautiful design. I also want to thank all of you for all your lovely and encouraging comments you left on my blog and my you-tube channel about my videos.

Yarn Packs

There are several Yarn Packs available that includes everything you need. These have been assembled by Dedri and the colorway for each pack is on her blog.

There are also yarn extension packs that allow you to make the squares Jack and Lydia so that you can extend your blanket. This is what I have also done with my Sophie. These are an addition to the original packs.

My Rainbow Sophie

In my color chart you can find which yarn choices I made, or rather did not make. There was no predetermined color planning. I literally took it one row at a time looking at what was available in my yarn stash. I have made a serious hole in my stash which means I can buy new yarn! I will post soon to show you what I have bought.

Sophie's Universe

Many of you though my initial name for my Sophie was not doing her justice. Hence I have given her the new name ‘Rainbow’ because she has all the colors of the rainbow in her. Just because I can’t help it. here, for the last time, some nostalgic moments of the making off Sophie’s Universe Rainbow..

Sophie’s Garden cushion ‘Ebony & Ivory’

Hi all you lovely people,

I would like to show you my version of Sophie’s Garden in black and white. I made it into a cushion and I have named it ‘Ebony & Ivory’ using Scheepjes Stonewashed Black Onyx and Crystal Quartz and a 3mm hook. For the back side I crochet rounds of double crochets alternately in black and quarts. The final cushion is 40cm square. This cushion can now sit comfortably on my lounge set in my own garden.

Sophie’s Garden & video part 4

Hey everyone,

It was a LOT of work, but the video for Sophies’s Universe part 4 is done. It is seriously the longest video I have ever made. It’s almost 2 hours! Hope it helps you all. 🙂

I am still using Scheepjes Cotton 8 yarn which I have left from a the Scheepjes CAL last year. Here the colors I used to make part 4.

  • Round 26 – 642
  • Round 27 – 508
  • Round 28 – 642
  • Round 29 – 720
  • Round 30 – 529
  • Round 31 – 721
  • Round 32 – 663
  • Round 33 – 723
  • Round 34 – 508
  • Round 35 – 726
  • Round 36 – 651
  • Flower – 649

I couldn’t resist, I took a moment to look at the end result of my first Sophie’s Garden. Isn’t she lovely? And want to know a secret? The colors I am using are like semi at random. I never look more than 2 rows ahead and I am definitely not planning some color theme or anything like that. What ever I have at hand, and it still works out great 😀 Here some picks specially for you.

On to the video for part 5, which is the first real part of Sophie’s Universe.
