My Scheepjes CAL 2014 blanket is all done. And it’s stunning, even if I say so myself. Compliments to Marinke from A Creative Being for a job extremely well done. In this post you find all information about the project.

Yarn kits
There were two yarn packs specifically for the CAL. The kits consist of Scheepjes Cotton 8 yarn in summer shades (kit 1) and warm autumn shades (kit 2). Each part of the pattern states which color to use when. The kits are no longer available, but you can still buy the yarn separately. Yarn amounts are given in the written pattern.
Scheepjes Cotton 8 and Sunkissed is available from Wool Warehouse (UK/International), Love Crafts (US/UK) and Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU) to name but a few Scheepjes stockists.
My first Scheepjes CAL 2014 blanket
I made my first blanket using Scheepjes Roma with a 3.5mm crochet hook. Roma is no longer available, but a good alternative is Scheepjes Color Crafter. My colors are mostly shades of brown and red with an accent of white and green. This was my first project and I didn’t think to keep track of which color I used when, so I don’t have a color chart for this blanket.
Scheepjes Colour Crafter is available in over 90 colors from Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Jimmy Beans Wools (USA), The Knitting Network, Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU) or your local Scheepjes stockist.
My second Scheepjes CAL 2014 blanket
I made a second blanket using this wonderful pattern to make a custom order. For the custom blanket I used shades of blue and grey Cotton 8. Also for this blanket I didn’t keep track of which color I used when. I didn’t even keep track of yarn numbers for that matter. Sorry!

Video tutorials
This was the first project that I made video tutorials for. They are a little crude and rudimentary here and there, but not bad for a first time 🙂 You can read more on my first time working with Wink and doing video tutorials as part of Last Dance on the Beach CAL when I reflected back. You can find the videos in English (US Terms) and Dutch on this blog or my YouTube channel.
My journey to making my first CAL blanket ever
I really enjoyed this amazing project. It was my first CAL ever and it got me infected with the crochet virus. Did you also make the Scheepjes CAL 2014? I would love to see your blankets. Feel free to share your photo’s on my Facebook page or tag me in your post on Instagram. You can also use #itsallinanutshell to help me find it.
With love,
Esther

Lovely Well Done and Thankyou for the help with the videos
Your blanket is really beutiful. Mum & I started a while ago. I haven’t got past week 4 yet due to school work & christmas makes. I hope mine looks that good when its finished.
I’m sure yours will be great too. It’s hard not to have a beautiful end result with such great designs to start with 🙂
I hope to get some done over christmas break.
