Usually I make big projects like blankets and other home deco items, but sometimes you want a small project that you can finish in one evening. With this set of coasters you have a nice eye-catcher on your coffee table and they are really quick to make. They are nice gifts to give and perfect for using up leftover cotton yarn.

Materials
To make a set of 4 coasters you will need the following:
- Color A : 50g Scheepjes Catona 105 Bridal White
- Color B : 25g Scheepjes Catona 246 Icy Pink
- 3mm crochet hook
Tip! make each coaster with a different Color B edge for a playful effect.

Abreviations
This pattern uses US crochet terminology. If you are more familiar with UK crochet terms, you can find a conversion chart HERE.
dc double crochet
dc2tog two double crochet stitches worked together
BL-sc single crochet worked into the back loop
ch chain
ch-sp(s) chain space(s)
ss slip stitch

Spiderweb Coasters – Free Crochet Pattern
Round 1 With Color A, ch4 and close with ss in first chain to form a ring, ch2 (does not count as a stitch), 12dc in the ring. Close with ss in first stitch. [12 dc]
Round 2 Ch4 (counts as 1dc and ch1), *1dc in next stitch, ch1; repeat from * to end. Close with ss in third chain of the starting chain stitches. [12 dc, 12 ch1-sps]
Round 3 Ch1 (does not count as a stitch), 3sc in each ch1-sp. Close with ss in first stitch. [36 sc]
Round 4 Ss in next stitch (this is the center stitch of the 3 sc), ch6 (counts as 1dc and ch3), *1dc in the center of the next 3 sc in the next ch-sp, ch3; repeat from * to end. Close with ss in third beginning chain. [12 dc, 12 ch3-sps]
Round 5 Ch1 (does not count as a stitch), 5sc in each ch3-sp. Close with ss in first stitch. [60 sc]
Round 6 Ss in next 2 stitches (this is the center stitch of the 5 sc), ch5 (counts as 1dc and ch2), *skip one stich, dc2tog over next 2 stitches (this is the last and first sc of two groups of 5 sc), ch2, skip one stitch, 1dc in next stitch (this is the center stitch of 5 sc), ch2; repeat from * to end. Close with ss in third starting chain.
[12 dc, 12 dc2tog, 24 ch2-sps]
Round 7 Ch1 (does not count as a stitch), *3sc in next ch2-sp, skip dc2tog, 3sc in next ch2-sp, sc2tog with one loop in the current ch-sp and one loop in the next ch-sp (you are now working either side of the dc); repeat from * to end. Close with ss in first stitch. Fasten off. [72 sc, 12 sc2tog]
Round 8 Join Color B in the back loop of any stitch with a ss, ch1, BL-sc in each stitch. Fasten off and close with an invisible join. [84 sc]
For best results, block the coasters by making them completely wet and letting them dry in the final shape.
