Yarn Amounts
Baby Elements uses 4 colors of Scheepjes Cahlista, and one color of Scheepjes Soft Fun. The Cahlista is used for the details in the blanket whereas the Soft Fun is a background color. You can use 4 ombré colors or go for contrasting colors. I chose to make my baby blanket with pastel rainbows on a soft white background color. You could also choose a different color for your background, a light ecru or a soft pink or blue will also look amazing.
You will need the following yarn amounts and materials to make your Baby Elements:
- 5 x Scheepjes Soft Fun White (2412)
- 1 x Scheepjes Cahlista Color 1 – I used Lemonade (403)
- 2 x Scheepjes Cahlista Color 2 – I used Green Yellow (245)
- 2 x Scheepjes Cahlista Color 3 – I used Cyan (397)
- 2 x Scheepjes Cahlista Color 4 – I used Lavender (520)
- 4.5mm hook
- 5.0mm hook
Scheepjes Soft Fun and Scheepjes Cahlista are available from Wool Warehouse (UK/Int), Black Sheep Wools (UK), Knotty House (CA/UK), Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU) and many other Scheepjes retailers.
To give you an idea of how my Baby Elements will look, here you see a work-in-progress shot of my colorway. This is halfway part 2 and I have not used the purple color yet, but it gives you an idea of how the colors work up.
About Baby Elements CAL
The baby blanket is approximately 85cm x 62cm (35″ x 25″) and we will start making it on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at 8pm Dutch time. The CAL is hosted in the Hooks and Yarn Facebook group. A new pattern will be released every week on Hooks and Yarn, with a total of 5 parts, meaning that the last part will be released in the first week of January 2019. Each time Sandra releases a part of the pattern, I will release a video on my YouTube channel and share my progress with photos here on my blog.
In just under 3 weeks we will start this CAL. Looking forward to seeing soon for part 1.
With love,
Esther
