Just like last week, when we repeated part 4, this week we are repeating part 5 of Charlotte’s Universe Blanket CAL and placing many many stitch markers as we go. For my Strawberry Ice Cream version of Charlotte’s Universe, just like last week, I am using the same color placement as before, so I am repeating the colors I used in part 5. In this post you can find the video tutorial for part 12, my color placement, info on where I get all those stitch markers, as well as information about the kits I have available in my shop.

Video Tutorial Part 12
You can find the RIGHT HANDED and LEFT HANDED video tutorials for Charlotte’s Universe on my YouTube channel. This is a repetition of part 5, so I have used those recordings again, and added information after the round on where to place the stitch markers. In the video description you will find time points that mark the start of each round.

For some of these rounds I do not follow the official color placement, meaning that sometimes I change colors where the original pattern does not and visa versa. You can either start the round with a standing stitch using the new color, or slip stitch to the corner and use the last slip stitch in the corner space to change colors.
I am using just about all the stitch markers I have in my house, I even had to temporarily borrow a few from my shop. From top to bottom, Tulip Heart stitch markers that come with a very handy carrying tin, 3 hand made stitch markers from Koru Clay Studio, and 3 Lilac Angel stitch markers made by me and available in my shop.
Sometimes I think to myself I have too many stitch markers, and then a project like Charlotte comes along, and it seems I actually need more!
Official Yarn Kits
There are three official colorways for the Charlotte’s Universe blanket; Vintage Charlotte, Sunshine Charlotte and Pink Charlie. You can of course make the blanket in any colorway you like, and knowing Dedri she will love to see all your color combinations! Dedri has made the original Vintage blanket using Scheepjes Softfun Aquarel (DK/Light Worsted Weight/#3).
If you would like to make your own color combination, you will need 37 balls of Scheepjes Softfun (DK/Light Worsted Weight/#3) in the following combination, where color B is the contrast color.
- 21 balls of Color A
- 10 balls of Color B
- 6 balls of Color C
You can find more tips and a coloring chart to help you find your perfect color placement on Dedri’s blog HERE.
Dedri has created a Facebook Group especially for Charlotte’s Universe. This is a good place to post your questions and show your work.
