After more than a year of hard work, I’m beyond excited to finally share the release of my very first crochet book with you — Mix and Match Mandalas! This book is a true celebration of the versatility and endless creative possibilities that mandalas offer. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, you’ll find inspiration, guidance, and customizable patterns that invite you to explore color, texture and design in new ways.

Mix and Match Mandalas concept
Inside Mix and Match Mandalas, you’ll find 9 beautiful mandala patterns divided into three sizes — small, medium and large — designed to be combined in creative ways.
The Small Mandalas are made by choosing from 3 distinct designs and completed by attaching your mandala to a 15cm ring. These are perfect as standalone pieces or as the foundation for larger creations.
To create a Medium Mandala, you start with a Small Mandala design and continue crocheting using one of three medium extensions. These are finished on a 25cm ring, and with three options for both the small and medium sections, you can make 9 different combinations.
Large Mandalas are built in the same way — begin with a Small Mandala, expand it with a Medium Mandala pattern, and then add a large outer section to complete the design on a 40cm ring. By combining the three pattern levels, you can create a total of 27 large mandalas.
Altogether, the book offers 39 possible mandala combinations, each one an opportunity to explore color, shape, and creativity in your own way. The possibilities are endless — which mandala will you make first?

Editions and Languages
The book is available in English (US terminology) and Dutch, and is available as a paper edition and an eBook. The paper edition is available from my webshop, and the eBook is available from both my webshop and from Ravelry.
Materials
All mandalas are made using Scheepjes Catona (50g/125m) which is a mercerized sport weight cotton yarn. The yarn comes in over 100 different colors; so many color combinations to choose from!
The amount of yarn you’ll need depends on your color choices, the number of mandalas you plan to create and which of the 39 designs you select. For detailed yarn requirements, refer to the table on page 14 of my book which gives yarn amounts per round for each mandala. In general, 10 balls of yarn will get you a long way to making 4 to 6 mandala’s in different sizes. You will also need mandala rings in the sizes 15cm, 25cm and 40cm.
Scheepjes Catona is available from Wool Warehouse (UK), Jimmy Beans Wool (USA), The Knitting Network (UK), Love Crafts (USA / UK), Caro’s Atelier (NL / EU), and many other Scheepjes stockists.
I have 3 starterkits available to accompany my Mix and Match Mandalas book. The kit contains
- English / Dutch Book
- 10 x Scheepjes Catona yarn (50g/125m)
- 2 x 15cm mandala rings
- 2 x 25cm mandala rings
- 2 x 40cm mandala rings

Patterns & Support
The book contains the written instructions for each of the 9 mandala patterns, detailed charts for all the patterns and full video tutorials for left and right handed crafters. There is a QR code in the book to access the video tutorials.
Unfortunately, small errors always seem to creep in, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. On my errata page, I will keep an updated list of any errors that are found in my book.
Upcoming Mix and Match Mandalas Make-along
In August 2025 I will start a lowkey make-a-long for my Mix and Match Mandalas. During this make-along I will release the video tutorials that are part of the book for free. I do this purposefully so that those that are on a small craft budget can still make my mandalas. The written patterns and charts will only be available with the book or eBook. End of July I will release the planning and more details for my make-along.
