This is the fourth part of my Mix and Match Mandalas CAL, and now the mixing and matching can really begin. Up to now I have released the video tutorials for Small Mandala I, Medium Mandala I and Large Mandala I. With those 3 tutorials, you could make 3 mandalas. Today I am releasing Small Mandala II which now makes it possible to mix and match between Small Mandala I and II. This means you can now make 2 small mandalas, 2 medium mandalas and 2 large mandalas, which means you now go from 3 possible combinations to 6 possible combinations just by adding 1 pattern to the mix.
In this part we make Small Mandala II which is my favorite of the 3 small mandala patterns. You can make the mandala as a stand-alone piece by attaching it to a 15cm ring, or you can choose to keep the mandala as it is for the moment and grow it in one of the next parts.
In this post I release the video tutorial showing how to make Small Mandala II. The video is available in English and Dutch, left and right handed. You can get your copy of the written pattern and charts by grabbing Mix and Match Mandalas in my webshop or follow along with the video tutorials on my YouTube Channel for free.

Yarn and Colors
All colors in my book are from the Rainbow starter set which contains 9 happy colors of Scheepjes Catona. These colors are
- Color A : 130 Old Lace
- Color B : 246 Icy Pink
- Color C : 226 Light Orchid
- Color D : 282 Ultraviolet
- Color E : 205 Kiwi
- Color F : 208 Yellow Gold
- Color G : 114 Shocking Pink
- Color H : 397 Cyan
- Color I : 146 Vivid Blue
Scheepjes Catona is available from Amazon.co.uk, Wool Warehouse (UK), Jimmy Beans Wool (USA), The Knitting Network (UK), Love Crafts (USA / UK), Caro’s Atelier (NL / EU), and many other Scheepjes stockists.

Small Mandala II has 10 rounds, and you can make those rounds in any color you like. I believe that this mandala looks best in max 5 colors. For the example shown here, I used the following colorsROUND COLOR Round 1 Color A – 130 Old Lace Round 2 Color H – 397 Cyan Round 3 Color H – 397 Cyan Round 4 Color I – 146 Vivid Blue Round 5 Color I – 146 Vivid Blue Round 6 Color C – 226 Light Orchid Round 7 Color C – 226 Light Orchid Round 8 Color D – 282 Ultraviolet Round 9 Color D – 282 Ultraviolet Round 10 Color A – 130 Old Lace
I completed Small Mandala II by attaching it to a 15cm ring. I used the same colors as the last round of the mandala to attach it to the ring, i.e. Color A – 130 Old Lace.

Gauge
Gauge is really important because the mandalas need to fit in the ring. At the end of Round 7, Small Mandala II should measure 10cm in diameter. If your mandala is larger, replace the hdc of Round 7 with sc. Likewise, if your mandala is smaller, replace the hdc with dc. (US Terminology).
Small Mandala II
I have a right handed and left handed video tutorial showing step-by-step how to make Small Mandala II.
Ik heb de video voor hoe je de Kleine Mandala II maakt ook in het Nederlands. Hierbij de Nederlandstalige video’s voor rechtshandige en linkshandige makers.
