Trinity Mandalas used many colors, which means that you have many leftovers. With this Spoke Wheel Coaster pattern, you can use all your leftover yarn to make a set of coasters. The free pattern uses a 19cm/7″ cork inner for stability, but it is also very possible to use some cardboard or even make the coasters without the inner. Under Resources and Patterns you find the links to the written patterns in several languages, the free video tutorial in English, yarn kits, and support groups.

Pattern Spoke Wheel Coaster
You will need random colors of Scheepjes Catona (50g/125m) yarn and a cork inner to make Spoke Wheel Coasters. The yarn colors listed here are the same as those used for Trinity Mandalas, because the coasters use leftover yarn from Trinity Mandalas. I used the following colors:
- 1 x A – 130 Old Lace
- 1 x B – 403 Lemonade
- 1 x C – 208 Yellow Gold
- 1 x D – 205 Kiwi Green
- 1 x E – 246 Icy Pink
- 1 x F – 398 Colonial Rose
- 1 x G – 413 Cherry Pink
- 1 x H – 397 Cyan Blue
- 1 x I – 400 Petrol Blue
- 1 x J – 110 Jet Black
You will also need a 19cm/7″ crock inner to complete the coaster. The inner is used to stabilize the coaster. You can also use several layors of cardboard, or even make the coasters without an inner. We make the coasters using a 3mm crochet hook.
Scheepjes Catona is available from many Scheepjes retailers, including Wool Warehouse (Ships International), Knotty House (USA/CA), and Caro’s Atelier (NL/EU). The coasters are available from many stores that sell things for your kitchen. Stores that carry the coasters are for example Amazon (UK) and Bol.com (NL).
I have an English (US Terms) video tutorial available which shows how to make these coasters. There is a certain rhythm to the pattern, and I believe that at a certain point you will feel that rhythm. In the video description there are time stamps, so you can jump to the round you need.
