Today Part 8 of Charlotte’s Universe Blanket CAL is released, and in this part we continue with the first border section we started last week. I am still making my Strawberry Ice Cream version of Charlotte’s Universe using Scheepjes Stone Washed yarn and I am amazed at how it turned out. The pink and purple shades really turn the blanket into a work of art. I have kits available in my shop if you would like to make my version of the blanket.

Here is my color placement for Charlotte’s Universe Part 8. The blanket is now starting to become quite large and heavy. This is going to be a serious sized blanket when finished!
|76||B – 820 Rose Quartz|
|77||B – 820 Rose Quartz|
|78||B – 820 Rose Quartz|
|79||D – 818 Lilac Quartz|
|80||F – 836 Tourmaline|
|81||B – 820 Rose Quartz|
|82||A – 821 Pink Quartzite|
|83||F – 836 Tourmaline|
For some of these rounds I do not follow the official color placement, meaning that sometimes I change colors where the original pattern does not and visa versa. You can either start the round with a standing stitch using the new color, or slip stitch to the corner and use the last slip stitch in the corner space to change colors.
Official Yarn Kits
There are three official colorways for the Charlotte’s Universe blanket; Vintage Charlotte, Sunshine Charlotte and Pink Charlie. You can of course make the blanket in any colorway you like, and knowing Dedri she will love to see all your color combinations! Dedri has made the original Vintage blanket using Scheepjes Softfun Aquarel (DK/Light Worsted Weight/#3).
If you would like to make your own color combination, you will need 37 balls of Scheepjes Softfun (DK/Light Worsted Weight/#3) in the following combination, where color B is the contrast color.
- 21 balls of Color A
- 10 balls of Color B
- 6 balls of Color C
You can find more tips and a coloring chart to help you find your perfect color placement on Dedri’s blog HERE.
Dedri has created a Facebook Group especially for Charlotte’s Universe. This is a good place to post your questions and show your work.
