In this post you can find the pattern and video tutorial for Part 8 of my Enigma Blanket design. In Part 8 we start the last shape-change of the blanket, from a square to a rectangle. In this part we make flowers, at least, if you want to. The flowers are a lot of work and a bit of a fuss to attach to the blanket. You can also choose to only make the panel and omit the flowers. Materials
You will need 7 colors of any yarn you like to make your Enigma Blanket. I have designed 4 colorways in 3 different yarn weights to inspire you for your own blanket. You can use one of my colorways or choose your own. My colorways are the original Flower Field in Scheepjes Stone Washed, and Flower Field in Scheepjes Colour Crafter, and the two new colorways Vintage in Scheepjes Scrumptious and Sunset Sky in Scheepjes Cotton 8. You can find information about color numbers and yarn amounts HERE. You can buy your supplies from any yarn shop close to you, but you can also buy a full kit with everything you need from my webshop.
I also have yarn kits available for all 4 colorways of Enigma Blanket in my shop. The mandala kits include everything you need to make these mandalas including the pattern, yarn and the mandala rings.

[184 bphdc]
Repeat rows 1-7 on the opposite side of the blanket, to make a second, identical panel.
FLOWERS
Make 48 flower centers. With Color F, ch4, join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring. Working into the ring, ch1, 12 hdc in the ring, join to first st with sl st. Fasten off.
[12 hdc]
Complete the flowers by making 24 flowers using Color D, 12 using Color B, and 12 using Color G for the petals. Join Color D/B/G with a sl st in any st of the flower center, ([1hdc, 1dc, 1tr, 1dc, 1hdc] in next st, sl st in next st) 6 times. Leave a long yarn tail. Fasten off.
Work away all but the long yarn tail on each of the flowers. Sew 24 flowers onto each of the two panels either side of the blanket using the long yarn tail from the end of the flower. Place the flowers randomly over the fabric. Allow the flowers to fall over each other and over the edges of the panel.
