Trinity Time Traveler Mandalas

It is just over two years ago that I presented my Trinity Mandalas to you. I saw many, many lovely mandalas, and I know that many of you are still making them. I was feeling a bit nostalgic, and thought I would make a new set of mandalas myself. It feels like going back in time, so I named this blue and pink version Time Traveler.

Resources

Materials

Just like the original Trinity Mandalas Rainbow colorway You will need 10 colors of Scheepjes Catona (50g/125m) yarn and 3 mandala rings to make the Trinity Mandalas. Here are the colors I used for Time Traveler:

  • 1 x A – 248 Champagne
  • 1 x B – 222 Tulip
  • 1 x C – 261 Capri Blue
  • 1 x D – 399 Lilac Mist
  • 1 x E – 401 Dark Teal
  • 1 x F – 393 Charcoal
  • 1 x G – 394 Shadow Purple
  • 1 x H – 226 Light Orchid
  • 1 x I – 253 Tropic
  • 1 x J – 110 Jet Black

You will also need 3 rings to finish the mandalas. You will need rings with diameter 50cm (19″ or 20″), 30cm (12″) and 15cm (6″), all of which I have available in my shop. We make the mandalas using a 3mm crochet hook.

I have yarn kits available for my Trinity Time Traveler Mandalas in my shop. The mandala kits include everything you need to make these mandalas including the printed pattern, yarn and the mandala rings. I ship internationally!

Scheepjes Catona is available from Wool Warehouse (UK), Jimmy Beans Wool (USA), The Knitting Network (UK), Love Crafts (USA / UK), Caro’s Atelier (NL / EU), and many other Scheepjes stockists.

    Color placement

I followed the original color placement for these mandalas, so nothing extra to the original pattern, only a new color combination. I purposefully chose cool colors, with pinks and blues that give the mandalas a very restful look and feel. I still enjoy making these.

    Pattern

The original pattern for Trinity Mandalas is divided into 3 parts. The free, written patterns are available in English US Terms, English UK Terms, Dutch, and Swedish as separate pdf files from the following links:

Alternatively, you can purchase a single pdf file from my Ravelry shop or It’s all in a Nutshell shop.
